St. Louis Company Offers FREE Ride for Intoxicated Drivers November 25, 2009

The STL ScooterGuy's, Professional Designated Driver Service, will be giving free rides to people wanting to be safe and not drive drunk this first night of the holiday season. You must call before 3 a.m. and one of the employees will show up, put a scooter in your trunk, and drive you and your vehicle safely to your home.

The biggest reason people do not take a free ride is they do not want to have to go back to get their vehicle the next day. This company solves this problem.

After midnight tonight, is when most people are killed by drunk drivers. Be safe tonight!

By the way, the free rides tonight will be paid for by Captain Morgan. Call after 9p.m. but before 3 a.m.

WHO Says There is NO Free Lunch?

Today November 11, 2009, Veteran's Day, Applebees Restaurants across the US are offering our military a free meal. Active duty U.S. military and veterans receive a free meal at Applebees Restaurants.

And this is not just for lunchtime, this free meal is for the whole day. All you have to do is show proof of service by wearing your uniform or bringing in a military ID.
Kudos to Applebees! What an awesome way to honor both past and present military people. Feel free to pass along this info.

St. Louis Missouri Home Owners...Tax Bills are in the Mail

St. Louis Missouri Home Owners...Tax Bills are in the Mail

Yes, St. Louis Missouri, the real estate tax bills are in the mail and most of you are not going to be happy about the amount due. While property values have dropped about 9%, the amount due for your real estate tax is actually going up. One might ask why or how. It is due to the school districts. Yes, most of the districts have lost money so they have opted to raise the rates charged to home owners.

Shouldn't they have to budget and cut back like the rest of us? Or does the education system not have to be financially responsible? What does this teach our children? Does the school district have a blank check?

How do you feel about a tax increase when values are decreasing?

Home Buyer Tax Credit to be Extended and Expanded!... Maybe

Home Buyer Tax Credit to be Extended and Expanded!.....Maybe

It looks like we could know today if the tax credit will be extended and expanded. This seems to be a move in the right direction for the home buyers that did not find a home within the allotted time to close by November 30th, 2009.

The new bill expands the tax credit to include home buyers who have owned a home for 5 years but they are eligible for $6500.

The Senate passed a cloture motion to end debate by a vote of 85-2. The bill will extend and expand the tax credit until April 30, 2010. This bill is likely to find it's way to floor votes in both Senate and the House by the end of today.

So buyers, you better get hopping and get looking again. You do not want to miss the party this time!

Stay tuned, I will update the situation as it unfolds.
